| MAGIC BUS PROJECT |

Introduction:
The Magic Bus Project is started in the month of November 2010 to set an example to bridge the social divide and enable youth to take charge to build an aware and strong community. The main purpose of Magic Bus is to empower children and youth with positive experiences to enable them to discover and develop through sport. Magic Bus enables children and youth to discover themselves and their role in the community, and empowers them to convert negative situations into positive learning. Magic Bus inspires them to become empowered youth who take charge of bringing about change in their communities.
The Goals of The project is to
- Sensitize and advocate the child's right to play
- Promote Gender Equality
- Develop personal and social skills
- Bring communities together through sporting opportunities by giving exposure to excellence and fair-play
- Become socially sustainable by empowering youth to become peer leaders
- Become financially self-sustainable society.
Activity of the Project:
- Songs
- Indoor activities and
- Outdoor activities including two major games i.e. Football and Handball.
Target Group:
Children and youth of all AD Project are target group especially the from rural community and school.
Conclusion:
Magic Bus would bring about a systemic change in communities through advocacy, influence policy to recognize and protect the child's right to play. The project will encourage children to form mixed groups and play together, Magic Bus helps them break gender stereotypes, thereby enabling social cohesion. The programmes are designed to encourage self confidence, self efficacy, communication, health and hygiene, leadership, civic sense, decision making and conflict resolution skills in children and youth. The sports will be used as the medium to bring together communities fragmented along caste and communal lines. This social cohesion can, in turn, serve as the driver for poverty alleviation. The project would encourage the youth on its programmes to become Peer Leaders, thereby serving as positive role models to the children in their communities. Magic Bus would aspire towards financial sustainability through community owned projects, corporate partnerships, and internal revenue generation strategies. |
