| TB Control Programmes (DOT) |
| |
 TB control Programme is one of the major programmes of ADF. The lack of civic amenities and an unhygienic environment make people of this area susceptible to many diseases including TB. Since there are a large number of TB patients at Shahid Nagar, Direct Observation and Treatment Service-DOTS was started in 2002 to control the TB in the area. It is a designated TB centre under RNTCP. ADF supplemented government efforts to stop TB in the community. It is serving through diagnosis, treatment and awareness. The medicinal support under DOTS is provided by government and awareness, diagnosis and treatment is taken care of by ADF. A total of 25 meetings were organised in the community for awareness promotion regarding signs/symptoms of TB, its cause, availability of good free treatment, prompting the people to come forward for early check ups etc., which was attended by 451 people. The TB Control programme is supported by Ministry of Health, Government of U.P. for DOTS and SOIR-IM for awareness generation.
