YUVA: Inclusive Holistic Development of youth through Skill Training and Economic Empowerment with special emphasis for youth who are diversely abled

Introduction

Asha Deep Foundation with the support of HCL FOUNDATION is dedicated to supporting the specially-abled adults. Additionally, we work to empower adults through skill training and various forms of need-based support. The foundation also provides relief by offering food assistance. Furthermore, the foundation assist these individuals in obtaining a UDID Certificate; a national database for PWDs is being created and managed my government as part of the "Unique ID for Persons with Disabilities" initiative, and each PWD will receive a unique disability identity card. The initiative will also make it easier to track beneficiaries' financial and physical success at all levels of implementation, including village, block, district, state, and national levels.

The programs focus on providing comprehensive training and support to especially abled youth through a combination of home-based and institutional-based approaches, including career opportunities, job offers, and soft skills development. The goal is to promote the growth and development of these individuals through the implementation of an effective Quality Assurance System that follows international best practices and utilizes innovative educational technology and teaching methods. The organization works towards empowering the differently abled community through various activities and initiatives throughout the year.

Aim

The foundation primary aim is inclusive holistic development, especially for differently-abled youth, through skill training and economic empowerment.

Objectives

  • Skill training to 100 youth (75 differently-abled, 25 without disabilities).
  • Support 10 differently-abled youth via home-based approaches.
  • Create job opportunities for 85% of trained youth.
  • Institutionalize a Quality Assurance System.
  • Establish a recreation center for youth.
  • Provide home-based support for self-sustainability.
  • Develop effective monitoring and evaluation systems.
  • Create dissemination platforms for replication.
  • 3-month comprehensive training in communication, English, workplace readiness, IT, money management, and more.
  • Mock interviews and debates enhance skills.

  • Facilitated by ADF, connecting trainees with potential employers.
  • Notable companies include HCL Tech, Maruthi Suzuki, TATA Enterprises, Reliance, and more.

Batch 1 (Dec 2022 - Feb 2023): 29 out of 34 trainees employed.

Batch 2 (Mar 2023 - May 2023): 30 out of 34 trainees placed.

Average salaries range from Rs. 12,000 to Rs. 25,000 per month.
